Rumour time: Lescott

Right I am ready for the stick that I might get but when I get told something like this I am going to share it just in case it turns out to be true.

So here goes, last night I received some information about a deal for Joleon Lescott. I was told that a deal for him has been done for a figure around the 20 million pound mark. I was also told that it hasn't been let out yet because Everton do not want clubs that they may want to buy off to know that they have money, hence helping their negotiation process.

Like I said I do not know if it is true, all I can say is that the person who told me also told me about Robinho's rape case a couple of weeks before that leaked.

Do we want this to be true?

  1. Be good if it IS true, but I think the best attitude is not to trust it until they turn up at Eastlands with a signed contract waving about!

  2. Sounds plausible - Everton certainly don't have the cash to splash, so they will want to get any benefit they can in the transfer market. I doubt, though, that any agents out there will be fooled. Decent defender: hopefully the first of two.

  3. Yeah I agree it isn't true until officially confirmed, but incase it is true I had to break it.

  4. just as long as Ned is´nt involved in this transfer....we´ve got all the strikers we need ..so now time to fix the defence

  6. I think the jo loan deal had something to do with this lescott deal and football politics determine when it is released.

  7. So Everton approach a top quality centre half and offer him the chance to play in Lescott's position and the selling club doesn't presume that Everton will be selling Lescott? That sounds like bollocks. The deal is more likely to go through purely and simply because Everton have a rigid wage structure and Lescott will know that a massive wage deal is on the table.

  8. Lets hope so, you would have thought that Hughes would want him as soon as possible but needs must. I wonder what the deadline is? I agree, let hnope ned doesnt go the other way as just suggested by sky sports.

  12. To Anon from 14:33, thank you very much I will continue to try and do my best.

As for the anon going on about Bluemoon, for a start I do not use bluemoon. I had to expect some idiots, all I did is published something I was told from a source that has been reliable in the past. No need to be like that at all.

  13. Gary,
This is a great site. Keep up the good work. I'd love to think the rumour about Lescott is true. Who knows? Don't take any notice of the negative comments that some posters have made.

  14. Thanks Bill. I can't win if i didn't write about it and then claimed I knew I would get all the rubbish then too.

I don't really care if it is true or not it is the fact that people think I would just make it up off the top of my head, thats a very sad attitude.

    Thanks again Bill.

  18. Being that we knew about Robinho's involvement in the rape incident two days after it happened, I think your source is Mystic Sue who can see 12 days into the future.
