Adebayor due in Manchester for permit hearing!

Sky Sports news are reporting that Emmanuel Adebayor will be in Manchester for a work permit hearing tomorrow.

If it is true then the Arsenal striker could be City player in the next 48 hours. I wouldn't mind having Adebayor and I think the way we have gone for him after deciding against chasing Eto'o shows we have a list of players that we think will fit in at the club.

If Adebayor does sign I think it will be a very good signing, he has a good scoring record and is still young. There is however a question mark over his attitude, he is said to be disruptive but I am sure Hughes will weigh him up properly before signing him.

Would Adebayor be a good signing?

  1. He will be a fantastic signing! Please take him ...as quick as possible.

For only £10m more we will throw in Eboue as well.

  3. It'd be an absolutely brilliant move. Well done Arsene !!!

  4. Can one of you Arsenal fans please tell me why you want rid of a striker that has scored almost 1 every 2 games for you?

  5. You're welcome to the donkey. No really you are. Know what "offside" means? Adebayor doesn't. I'd be quite happy to see him gone and not replaced.

  6. I can't remember a happier day in My Arsenal supporting life. It comes a close second to the day we signed Dennis.

  7. Adebayor is a decent player but his attitude absolutely stinks. He will expect star treatment at City.

Best of luck getting him to run fellas, oh and buy him the "Dummies Guide to the Offside Rule" he'll be needing it.

  8. Gary,
Because he's lazy and goes missing in big games. That strike ratio? Looks good, except that the team has to give him at least 5 chances to score each one of those goals, and his ratio has been bolstered by scoring a lot of goals against weaker teams.

Don't worry, you'll see. If he was only half as good as he spends all daydreaming he is then he would be a world beater.

  9. So Wenger one of the greatest managers of all time couldn't teach him the offside rule?

As for lazyness maybe thats why we have gone him after securing Tevez, Tevez will do all the work.

  10. it would be absolutely frightening to see how many he would have scored over the last 2 seasons if he was actually any good. my nan would have tucked away as many as he did. there will be about 40,000 arsenal season ticket holders collectively jumping through hoops if it happens.

  11. Please take him ... I would contribute towards 17:14's petrol costs to expedite the deal !

It doesn't matter how many he scores, he is as disruptive as hell.

  12. He will be playing for a proper team with quality through it (not like the arse) so he will fit in nicely!!! CTID

  13. he might have scored all those goals, mostly against lower oppostion but he has missed a bucket full. he is always getting himself caught offside, he is lazy, he attacks his team mates, he disrespects arsenal fans every time he opens his mouth and lastly. last season he openingly wanted to leave arsenal, i, along with many others say the interview he gave to sky sports live, where he finnished himself as an arsenal player, the guy is a disgrace to mankind. like i said before, take him with our complements and good luck with him, you are gonna need it mate....

  15. Another bitter club joining the bandwagon now the power is shifting to the only true club in Manchester

    LIFES GOOD GOONERS

  16. offside rule ... he doesn't get it.

running ... he doesn't do it.

    sitters ... he misses them.

discipline ... he doesn't have any.

lazy ... he has it by the bucket load.

Screamingly frustrating player ... talent and lack of talent rolled up in a day dreaming lazy trouble maker.

He played for us right up until the moment he got a pay rise !

  17. Gary in all fairness very few Arsenal fans are bothered about it, in fact so happy we got the money we reportedly did for him.

All we're saying is, don't come crying in a year when ye realise he isn't all that.

Santa Cruz is a better player in my opinion and with him already signed I don't see why ye needed Adebayor.

Good luck for next season, hope ye do well, City deserve to.

  18. Thanks Arshavinismymate, I take what you say into account but I am still leaning towards him being a positive signing for us, however naive I might be being.

  19. I don't know why the odd fan here think we Arsenal fans are bitter - anyone following Arsenal blogs over the last year would know we wanted rid of Adebayor so its not sour grapes, its happiness :)

  20. ill even drive him to city myself effin take the bawhore

  21. yeah a propper team who finnished how many points below us? dream on, the welsh man will be out by christmas and your will be left with a team full of money grabbing bastards who are only there for their bank accounts. city used to be such a decent club with real fans that i had respect for. that has gone, you will now get a new breed of fan who could not pick out the british isles on a map let alone manchester and worse than that, you will get all those rats who will be leaving chelsea now the glory is over and they have gone back to being what they always were, a mickey mouse club with no history. it is your time now, it will all end the same way...

  22. Of course Gary if he changes his attitude and decides he wants to make a go of it at City then he could be a very good signing for ye.

I just have this feeling he will look for star treatment.

One thing we all agree on here is that we want Ferguson and his gang to be knocked off their perch so if Arsenal can't do it, I'd personally delight in seeing City doing it.

  23. All the talent in the world and a giant, swollen ego to match

Whatever you do, don't double his wages. Each time this happens he becomes twice as lazy.

Good luck with the big lump of sh.....

  24. You can have him! God knows why you would want him tho?!
I agree with above, Santa Cruz a much better signing,,,
I just hope we cash that cheque before they relise what they have done!
    ;)

  25. he's shit, and we know he is.....he wont have city to score against no more so it will be 6 goals in the league only for ade next season

    ReplyDelete
  26. no matter how many shit players you sign city,
you'll still be average. And whoever said city have quality through their team, unlike arsenal - you talk SHIT

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONERSSSSSS!

  27. adebayor is doomed to have another crap season. rather with city than with arsenal. if you take him, say goodbye to your supposedly 4th spot this coming season coz without him, we will be challenging for the title anyway!! eduardo is twice the striker!! good riddence. ~J

  28. all the chelsea fans will be up supporting the city soon if rom dont start spending

  29. I get why you might want rid of him but the amount of hostility towards him is amazing.

Suppose we will have to see for ourselves.

Btw a lot of you Arsenal fans have filthy mouths can you be careful what you say kids come on here, thankyou.

  30. Thank you Manchester City. I thank you.

    Later Ade!

    Made my day.

    Sam, a Gooner.

  31. Jesus I thought we was stuck with him!
    THERE IS A GOD!!!
    laterz ade!
    Gooooooooooooooooooooooooners!!!!!!!!

  32. Any striker who plays for Arsenal gets chance after chance. Adebayor needs all of these to score plus, by his own admission, he is only in it for the money. If Man City fans are happy with that then just write us that cheque for £25 million and you deal with his moods and his laziness.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Gary - check out his Football Focus or Sky Sports interviews and it might explain why. They should be on youtube.

Or else try and find clips of him lazying about the pitch when a pass isn't inch perfect.

Its really his conduct from last summer on that has been annoying and arrogant.

    ReplyDelete
  34. In that BBC interview he gave at end of last season he feigned ignorance claiming he didnt talk about a move to milan...
but we all know what really happened last year.
Ade thinks us gooners have short memory span of less than a year.
City be warned, wait till the end of 09-10 and ya will see for yerself the true togonator

  35. He makes Ashley Cole look like a commited professional with a nice personality.

THANK YOU CITY, The geezer is pure scum.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Man C, take him asap..We don't need a striker can make a goal only from ten chances.

  37. Gunner here.

Thank goodness; Can't wait to see the back of this guy.

City fans - get used to the offside flag.

    ReplyDelete
  38. If he's that good why aren't Arsenal fans upset? Surely some of us would buck the trend and say this was a bad move?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Flimpineckers, Gary!
The Gooners have takin over the asylum!

Look fellas (violins at the ready please), we've had 33 years of nothingness and lived in the shadow of trophy after trpohy and pee-taking from the rags. Your 1 in 2 goal centre forward is better than we've had for a while so let's see how this pans out (if he signs!).

One thing I know is that if he doesn't pull his weight then he'll soon be sussed next to Tevez and Rocky can take over while yer man warms the bench. Hughes doesn't take crap - ask Elano.

    Next season should be interesting!!!

  40. lets face it chaps, arsenal wern't there usual selves last season and with fabrigas missing and theo blowing hot and cold maybe the togan didnt get the same quality service he is normally used to.but with Robbie,SWP and Tevez laying the ball on for him im sure he will get a panfull-lets hope so. p.s speaking of offside you can have Benjani as part swap if you want.up the Blues.

  41. Good riddance. The man is poison to team chemistry and a blamer not someone who will man up and take the blame. Just look at his behaviour with the Togo National Team. It's not just an Arsenal problem. We should welcome the 25M to spend on someone who is worthy of the Red and White!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. No don't sign him i have a brother whos an arsenal season ticket holder and apprantly adebayor has had the record for the most offsides in a premiership season and they are mainly due to his lazyness to get onside
He also is a poor finisher (needs 4 chances to score) and does a stupid dance when he scores
