Man City vs Hamburger SV - Thurs 16Th Apr 19:45 pm

A European Cup quarter final at the home of Manchester City, doesn't sound to shabby when you say it like that. What would sound even better in a sentence is Man City and European Cup semi final, can we do it, lets hope so.

This game today is going to be a real sign of our squads mentality, win or lose. If eleven players go on that pitch and fight and then fight even more for us I will go away form Eastlands satisfied, if they don't give their all there is something wrong.

This is such a tough game to turn around and although it is very possible to score two goals I don't want to get my hopes up, all week I have been telling myself to just enjoy watching City in a quarter final what ever happens. I am finding it hard to convince myself that I am bothered about enjoying it though, really all I am bothered about is City winning.

So, one of the big and simple questions is, can we win the game two nil, the answer for me is, yes we can! The other question is if we do win, can we win two nil? We will have to wait and see. We all know that we could very easily score two goals at home, what we don't know is if the team will try hard enough to score two goals.

There is some huge weight on the shoulders of every one of the team and coaching staff today, as you can imagine, but I think we as fans have to take some of that weight on our shoulders. We can play a major part in the fight for some pride today, if nothing more. It is a must that we are singing, waving bananas, flags and scarfs for 90 minutes, our team needs to know we are behind them and that our disappointment with them is fuelled by our love and passion for them.

City team news:
We are badly struggling with injuries and look set to be without a number of key players. Wright-Phillips(ankle), Kompany(hamstring), Bridge(hamstring) and Zabaleta(groin) are all facing a race against time to be fit. Bellamy is certain to miss out with a knee injury. Bojinov and De Jong are ineligible.

Hamburg team news:
The visitors also have a number of injuries.
Bastian Reinhardt, Thimothee Atouba, Romeo Castelen, Maxim Choupo-Moting, Guy Demel and Collin Benjamin are all set to miss out with injury. The decision on whether Alex Silva is fit enough make the Hamburg team is yet to be decided. David Jarolim returns to the team after being suspended for their last league game.

Possible Man City line up: Given, Richards, Dunne, Onuoha, Garrido, Zabaleta, Ireland, Elano, Wright-Phillips, Robinho, Sturridge.

Possible Hamburg line up: Rost, Mathijsen, Gravgaard, Jansen, Jarolim, Tavares, Boateng, Pitroipa, Aogo, Olic, Guerrero.

My prediction: Man City 2 - 0 Hamburg

Worth a bet: City win 2 - 0

^^ ^I know, but I want to be and have to be as positive as possible.

We must all still believe, come on you blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
