Man City YTH 1 - 2 Arsenal YTH (Nimely-Tchuimeni, 41',Thomas, 71', Sunu, 81')

Unfortunately City YTH were beaten by Arsenal YTH at home tonight and now have a lot of work to do in the second leg if they are to turn the tie around.

It was disappointing to watch our lads get beat tonight, but they do have a lot of quality in the squad and I am sure this tie is far from over as far as City are concerned.

The first goal of the game tonight came from Alex Nimely-Tchuimeni. Boyata managed to get the ball to Trippier after some neat defensive work, Trippier then sent a long pass over to Nimely-Tchuimeni who charged into the box and put the ball into the back of the net. Arsenal didn't give up and came back with two goals. Jay Thomas was their first scorer after heading home from a Wilshere corner, Gilles Sunu got the second Arsenal goal when he hit the ball across the goal keeper and in to the bottom corner.

City now face the battle of trying to overturn the result in the second leg at the
Emirates on the 22nd of April.

  1. We started brightly in a good first half and should with a little luck been 2 up. Cannot make my mind up on a poor second half and think the tactics we employed contributed to Arsenal gaining confidance the longer it went on.
This tie is not over we are strong enough to turn it away.
