Man City 5 - 1 Scunthorpe United (Ireland 3',Forte 26', Santa Cruz 38', Lescott 56', Tevez 71', Johnson 77 ') *Video*

Well we are through to the last eight after a good performance, we looked shaky after we took the lead for a short period but we went on to hammer Scunthorpe.

Our first goal was scored by Stephen Ireland, SWP layed him off and Ireland banged it in from outside the box. Scunthorpe then equalised through Forte, he had a simple tap in from close range. City took the lead again when Roque Santa Cruz headed home a Zabaleta cross, our next goal came from a corner with Lescott heading it in. Tevez scored our fourth from inside the box after the impressive Vladimir Weiss picked him out, our final goal came from Michael Johnson, he smashed the ball into the net from outside the box. GOALS AND HIGHLIGHTS BELOW!!!

We had a great start tonight after scoring early on but from there it went slightly pear shaped, Scunthorpe were pressing with confidence and Forte was running the line very well, then disaster struck when they equalised. Luckily we pulled ourselves together and went on to play well and give Scunthorpe a bit of a hammering.

We had a few players out tonight and the guys who came did a good job, Kompany at centre half looked very assured and steady, Sylvinho didn't do anything to make you think about his performance to much but at the same time if he had made a mistake then he would have entered your thoughts, so a good game for him. Ireland came back in and after starting on the left was drifting inside more and more as the game went on and looked something like the Ireland of last year. Santa Cruz was good up top nothing spectacular but he certainly makes himself a handful for defenders and when he has a few games under his belt I am sure he will be an important player for us. Johnson got on the pitch tonight and not only did he score a cracker but played pretty well and then there is Weiss, what a player this guy is, he looks really top quality and also set up Tevez for his goal. I still think SWP should be dropped so that Weiss can come in.

Overall, good performance against opposition that was not close to being anywhere near as good as us.

Now give us Man United at home in the next round!!!

P.S. didn't post last night due to no highlight videos being available.

Goals and highlights.

Man City vs Scunthorpe United - Wed 28Th Oct 19:45 pm

Just want to apologise for the late post and it is only short because I have got to get off to the match shortly, I have had a hectic day!

To the match, well we have got to win no matter what, no excuse can be made if we do not progress in the cup! Actually I say we have got to win, we have got to absolutely batter them in my opinion.

I do not expect a tough game tonight we should walk it, Scunthorpe really do not have any kind of quality to cause us any problems, there is only one way we will not win and that's if we don't play well, in fact a half decent performance from our squad should beat Scunthorpe.

Man City Team News:
Kolo Toure, Wayne Bridge and Martin Petrov are struggling with injury and should not play tonight, Robinho is still out with an ankle injury, Benjani Mwaruwari and Nedum Onuoha are still out with thigh injuries. Roque Santa Cruz has been ill with tonsillitis and is rated 50/50 to be in the squad, Pablo Zabaleta returns from suspension.

Scunthorpe Team News:
The away side have a few injury concerns with a lot of players expected to play whilst carrying injury. Gary Hooper is struggling with a foot injury and is more likely to miss out than play but
David Mirfin should return to the squad after an illness.

Possible Man City Line Up:
Given, Zabaleta, Lescott, Richards, Sylvinho, Wright-Phillips, Barry, De Jong, Tevez, Adebayor, Bellamy.

Possible Scunthorpe Line Up: Joe Murphy, Rob Jones, Cliff Byrne, Marcus Williams, Jordan Spence, Grant Mcann, Sam Togwell, Michael O'Connor, Josh Wright,
Paul Hayes, Jonathan Forte.

My Prediction: Man City 3 - 0 Scunthorpe United.

Worth A Bet: Tevez scores in a 3 - 0 City win.

Some advice for Robinho

Today we have been able to read another stupid comment by Robinho and it has made me angry.

Robinho has said...........

"I'm very happy about the interest that Barcelona have in me, playing in the Nou Camp it is much easier to be the best player in the world than at City."

"I'm not forcing a hypothetical exit from England and neither do I have problems with my coach.''

Ok so he added the second bit about not trying to force a move but here is my advice to him, keep your mouth shut and concentrate on becoming the best player in the world at the club that has spent so much money on you!

Also, he does know that Messi plays for Barca, right? So good luck in being the best player at Barca well he is there.

We do not need these kind of comments coming out from players at the club, you get Vincent Kompany taking numerous injections just to play one game and then signing a new contract to prove even more how committed he is to us, then Robinho is coming out with things like this, it is not helpful!

Should Robinho go? I don't think so, should he get his head down and stop worrying about Barcelona, definitely!

Man City 2 - 2 Fulham ( Lescott 53', Petrov 60', Duff 62', Dempsey 68') *Video*

Well to say I am disappointed would be a major understatement, I am angry and disgusted with our performance. We failed to take advantage of other teams results once again.

Lescott put us ahead when he poked the ball in the net from right on the goal line, Petrov made it two nil with a good strike after making room for a shot. Fulham pulled one back through Damien Duff, the Irish winger scoring from just inside the box. A free header from a free kick for Clint Dempsey meant that Fulham had drawn level. Goals below!

Right let me get this out of the way, what I say about City is not reflection on Fulham. We helped Fulham to be able to play a bit more freely because we were awful, apart from that Fulham deserved their point and played very well.

We were disgraceful today for most of the game, we had a good spell in the first half and that was about it. We have to many people in our team who are not pulling their weight, I can only pick out Bridge, De Jong and Tevez from our whole team today and say yeah he played well. Adebayor has returned from his ban a different player and is totally useless, Petrov scored today but yet again was rubbish apart from that, Barry was not himself at all and should have been replaced and the list goes on, it needs sorting out and fast or our season will come and go.

Actually to be honest Hughes has to take a lot of the blame for our performances at the moment, he finally got the guts to drop SWP, but then did nothing else. We are totally tactically naive, we have no shape, no work ethic and we don't really have a plan A at times let alone a plan B. Our midfield might as well not be on the pitch, it gets totally bypassed 90% of the time, the ball goes from defence to the forwards and then back which in turns puts pressure on our very average defence.

I was talking to people who I go to the match with and I said are we expecting to much from them, they quickly pointed out we are only expecting what we should be capable of after spending all that money. We are not expecting to win the league or expecting them to batter the Chelsea's and Man United's of the league, we expect without being disrespectful to beat Fulham at home.

I am quite fed up at the moment, I feel down when ever we lose but to lay down for teams and lose is much more hurtful. We need to get it right and hopefully we will, if not then I have no doubt that our owners backing of Hughes will disappear.

Goals.

Man City vs Fulham - Sun 25Th Oct 15:00 pm

It is about time that we get to see a full throttle City performance, tomorrow is the time to to show us one. A draw or a loss is no good to us, we had some results go for us a little today and we need to take advantage.

We face a team that has been a little inconsistent this season, Fulham certainly haven't done as well as I thought they would up to now. It is actually kind of worrying for us that they have been inconsistent because I can't see that carrying on for long, it is only a matter of time before they get consistent and consistently good at that.

Fulham are a great example of what a lot of managers in the premier league are instilling into their average teams, the are very organised and work hard for each other. So Fulham are definitely good as a unit but I am not so sure that they have a player within the team to provide a spark, I am a big fan of Dempsey and I like the way he plays, if anyone was going to provide a spark for Fulham I reckon it would be him.

In all honesty I am not really worried about Fulham posing a threat to us, we should be winning games against teams like Fulham at home and that is no disrespect to Fulham, more of a view on what I think City should be capable of.

I am expecting some big displays from certain people tomorrow, it is certainly about time that SWP pulled his finger out. Hughes seems to be happy letting the rest of the team carry him at the moment but that surely can not go on much longer, he needs to prove that he is worth his place. Adebayor is another player who needs to play better against Fulham, he was rubbish against Wigan and that is something we do not need from our big players.

Man City Team News:
Kolo Toure is expected to return to the side after overcoming his heel injury, Craig Bellamy should also return to the side after being out injured. Nedum Onuoha (thigh), Benjani Mwaruwari (thigh) and Robinho (ankle) are still out. Pablo Zabaleta will miss out due to suspension.

Fulham Team News:
Fulham have quite a few injury problems with Danny Murphy, Simon Davies, Andy Johnson and Dickson Etuhu all out for the visitors. John Pantsil is expected to start at right back, replacing Stephen Kelly. Damien Duff is also expected to come back into the starting line up.

Possible Man City Line Up:
Given, Richards, Lescott, Toure, Bridge, Wright-Phillips, Barry, De Jong, Tevez, Adebayor, Bellamy.

Possible Fulham Line Up:
Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky, Gera, Baird, Greening, Dempsey, Kamara, Zamora.

My Prediction: Man City 4 - 0 Fulham.

Worth A Bet: Bellamy scores two and Tevez grabs one in a 4 - 0 City win.

Robinho leaving? No chance!!!!

Mark Hughes has told Oliver Holt that Robinho will not be leaving City in January.

Oliver Holt asked Hughes ''So he wouldn't be sold in the January transfer window'' to which our manager replied ''No chance''

I for one hope that Hughes will stick by those words, I really do not want to see Robinho leave. We have not seen his best yet and I think it would be a shame for us deserving fans if we were not able to witness Robinho's best years.

I also like the name of my blog!!!!

Wigan 1 - 1 Man City ( N'Zogbia 45', Petrov 47', Zabaleta s/o 65') *Video*

We come away from Wigan with a point that could have been three, we were sloppy and disorganised, credit to Wigan though they were the exact opposite.

N'Zogbia put the home team ahead on the stroke of half time, Given's save falling right in his path for him to easily slot home. City fired back immediately after half time, Tevez went down the right hand side before putting the ball across the box where Petrov was waiting to finish well. Goals below!!!!!!!

I am not at all pleased with our performance as a team today and thought Hughes should have done something about it. A professional football team should know how to hold a shape and when they are not doing that, the manager should sort it out. We were all over the place today, I think I remember one instance when we had two banks of four, apart from that one time we were grouping in circles of four and five when trying to close a Wigan attack down.

I have to give Wigan their credit, they were very organised and worked excellently as a unit. If only we would have matched that, then the result could have been different. I just do not see why we must play this silly system where we basically bypass our midfield, why can't we just hold the ball up in the middle until we have some decent options on going forward, Hughes needs to address it and quickly at that.

There was some impressive individual performances today again, Nigel De Jong was absolutely excellent and there is no chance that he is going to be dropped for Stephen Ireland or anyone else for that matter. I also thought Wayne Bridge was good again, he was obviously not fit when we signed him but now you can see his quality beginning to shine through. SWP was a little better today but still has the tendency to want to run through players rather than past them, I just wish the old SWP would come back, he had chances to take people on today and just would not do it.

There was also players that I wasn't impressed with today, Adebayor looked like the Adebayor the Arsenal fans have been talking about, he was pretty much useless. I thought Lescott was very dodgy at times and did not look comfortable when Wigan were attacking. I am also maybe controversially going to pick out our goal scorer, granted Petrov scored today but he did absolutely nothing else. His deliveries were terrible from set pieces and the same as SWP, he had many chances to take people on and did not do it, he is no where near as effective as Bellamy in my opinion.

Now this is a sad moment for me, I have to agree with Alex Ferguson. Alan Wiley was terrible today for both teams, we should have had a penalty, Wigan should have had a penalty when Lescott had hold of Scharner in the box and Zabbo got sent off because of two yellows when the first yellow was never a booking. As well as those things his general refereeing was poor, the amount of good tackles that were given as free kicks against both sides were ridiculous, he ruined the game for me.

I will take that point against Wigan, they were a good hard working organised team and if they play like that for the rest of the season they will do alright.

Next up is Fulham at home in what is a must win for us, we need to stay in touch at the top end of the table.

Goals.

Wigan vs Man City - Sun 18Th Oct 16:00 pm

Back to league football and thank goodness, I can't stand waiting for City to play. We have a tough trip to play a Wigan side that beat Chelsea in their last home game, by the same token they got beat by Hull in their last game so it is hard to know what to expect.

I am not 100% sure how this game will go against Wigan, we should beat them but as we know the prem is a very high standard now and it is hard to say that without feeling cocky and disrespectful, which is not what I am trying to do. I quite like to see Wigan win if I am honest, they are a northern club who have worked hard to get where they are today, obviously when playing City I hope they get battered!

I am going to say that we will win comfortably, we might have a few key players out but if that is the case, I think our strength in depth should shine through in what will be a tough test. I don't see anyone in Wigan's team who I can say 'yeah he could cause our defence problems' I just do not think they have the quality to bother us and that isn't just up top that's throughout the whole of their team.

I am looking to our midfield to make an impact on this game, I think they can be key to victory. Wigan's midfield is not as strong as ours and if we can control the middle of the pitch then I would definitely back us to win. I don't want to hang myself out to dry by saying that because although Wigan do not have great individuals in my opinion they are good as a unit, but I stand by what I said and think that City should win this game.

Results didn't really go for us today, so who ever we may have been playing tomorrow it would have been important that we win. If we want to be a top team then we have to keep up with the pace setters.

Man City Team News:
Robinho is closer to returning but isn't quite ready, Kolo Toure (heel) is not looking like he will make it either and Pablo Zabaleta (hamstring) is almost certain to miss out. Joleon Lescott is struggling with a calf injury and Craig Bellamy (groin) and Martin Petrov (knee) are facing a race against time to be fit. Nedum Onuoha (thigh), Vincent Kompany (toe/ankle) and Benjani Mwaruwari (thigh) are all still out injured, although Kompany might make a surprise return to the squad.

Wigan Team News:
No new injury news for Wigan, Roberto Martinez may have to assess tiredness, after a few of his players had long journeys during the International break.

Possible Man City Line Up: Given, Vidal, Richards, Bridge, Sylvinho, De Jong, Barry, Wright-Phillips, Tevez, Bellamy, Adebayor.

Possible Wigan Line Up:
Kirkland, Melchiot, Boyce, Bramble, Figueroa, N'Zogbia, Diame, Thomas, Rodallega, Scharner, Scotland.

My Prediction: Wigan 0 - 3 Man City.

Worth A Bet: Richards comes back into the team with a bang and scores in a 3 - 0 City win.

What players do we want / need?

The transfer rumours are starting to get going again and it got me thinking about who I would like to see come in and who I think we need to bring in.

We are being linked with various players again and while it is always good to be linked with world class players some of the rumours make you think ''we don't need him'' or ''is he actually good enough'' and so on, so I started to think about who the fans would like to see brought into the club.

The players I would like to sign are, Maicon, Yaya Toure, Van der Vaart and Luis Fabiano.

I would go for Maicon because we are weak at right back, I am a Zabaleta fan but I do not feel Richards is up to it yet and think that we need someone else in to take his place. Toure I would bring in because he is a very good ball playing defensive midfielder, who in all the games I have seen him dominates the midfield area. I would bring Van der Vaart in because I do not feel we have a natural replacement for Ireland, Van der Vaart can create goals, score goals and is also adaptable as he can play down both wings. Finally I would sign Fabiano because he is pure quality, I feel he has every attribute any striker could ask for. He is strong, quick, a creator, a scorer, he can hold the ball up, he is good in the air, he can tackle and defenders can just not cope with him.

I honestly think all of these players would certainly make our squad stronger and help us to reach the next level in our development.

I know I may have been slightly greedy picking four quality players, but you don't buy a ten pence mix if you have twenty pence in your pocket, do you?

Who would you like to see City bring in and why?

Aston Villa 1 - 1 Man City (Dunney 15', Bellamy 67') *Video*

Well we surely seen that coming, Richard Dunne scores to stop City from taking all three points. You know every time Dunney went up for a corner when he played for us a big man marked him, so we thought the best thing to do would be to put Barry on him.

Richard Dunne put Villa ahead with a header from a corner, Bellamy made it 1 - 1 with a very well taken goal from inside the box. Goals below!

This was one of those games where it would have been great to watch had I been a neutral, it was a good, well contested game of football.

I do think City could have won this game had we played to a higher level, without being at our worst we were not at our best. We had a lot of the ball but did nothing with it apart from give it away. Credit to Villa though, they stuck a lot of men behind the ball and defended quite well all night.

I have to say I was disappointed with a couple of players tonight, particularly Barry. He let us down tonight he just did not look interested, I don't know if the Villa fans got to him or it just happened to be his off day, what I do know is that he wasn't at his best. I was also yet again not happy with SWP, he worked very hard running wise but didn't do much else.

Dunney was given man of the match at Villa Park tonight but for me there was only one player deserving of that award on the pitch tonight and that was Wayne Bridge. I was not a big fan of Bridge when we signed him, but he is getting better with every game and for me was by far the best player on the pitch tonight, every aspect of his job was carried out superbly.

All in all a draw at Villa Park is a decent result and we move up to fourth and that is with a game in hand over a lot of teams.

Time to get back on the training pitch and work out these kinks in time to win the next game.

Goals.

Man City fan sites Video!

Right guys here it is, like I said it isn't anything special and probably doesn't look much but it did take me quite a few hours to get it right.

I am happy with it and think it does the job of reaching out to people that may not know about the vast selection of fan sites.

Please feel free to embed it on your own site/blog, the more people who see it the better!

I hope it is OK for you guys.

P.S. I will be doing more videos from now on and will put a list of our blogs on the end of them so people continue to repeatedly see them.

Aston Villa vs Man City - Mon 5Th Oct 20:00 pm

City travel to Villa Park knowing that a win will keep us in good shape to break the top four, saying that Villa are also a team looking for a top four place and will by no means be an easy team to play against.

I have a feeling that we will be in for a very tough game tonight, Villa pretty much have everything a good team needs, they have pace, strength, goal scorers, goal providers and they work very hard for each other. The thing with that is we have more than enough of all those attributes as well, so I am not saying we should worry about it but maybe that we should have a hard think about how to stop Villa's quality.

I certainly think that we can win this game tonight, Villa are another team who are not scared to attack and as I have said before any team that commits players forward against us will be punished. I would like to think Hughes has prepared a strategy that will stop what I consider Villa's best players, which are Milner and Young. Agbonlahor is the man who will provide the pace to latch on to anything that the clever Young and Milner will create, so if we can stop them two then you basically stop Agbonlahor, it is not easy to stop players of this quality but I think half the battle will be won if we do.

This game sees both Dunney and Barry play against their former clubs, although I love Dunney I must say we got the better signing out of the two. Barry has been brilliant since he has been at City and hopefully with the bit between his teeth playing against his former club, he will play even better tonight and be the key to a City victory.

Man City Team News:
Emmanuel Adebayor is back from suspension after serving his three match ban. Robinho (ankle), Nedum Onuoha (thigh), Vincent Kompany (toe/ankle) and Benjani Mwaruwari (thigh)are all still injured. Michael Johnson and Roque Santa Cruz should feature on the bench again after recently returning to fitness and Stephen Ireland should return to the squad after missing the last game with a bug.

Aston Villa Team News:
Luke Young is out with a thigh injury and Curtis Davies misses out with a long term shoulder injury.

Possible Man City Line Up: Given, Zabaleta, Toure, Lescott, Bridge, Wright-Phillips, Barry, De Jong, Bellamy, Tevez, Adebayor.

Possible Aston Villa Line Up:
Friedel, Cuellar, Collins, Dunne, Warnock, Milner, Reo-Coker, Petrov, Young, Heskey, Agbonlahor.

My Prediction: Aston Villa 1 - 3 Man City.

Worth A Bet: De Jong and Tevez score in a 3 - 1 City win.

Adebayor song with video!

I have recently been contacted by somebody really passionate about trying to breathe some life back into our terraces, he has sent me a few different ideas that seem like they could take off, he has actually put the words to an Adebayor video/tune for us and I think most of you will like it as I do.

Thanks to Lordeffingham for making this video and making me aware of it.

Sites video complete/Available later!

Hi guys, I have completed the City fan sites video. I will be publishing it on my blog later on today, sometime in the afternoon.

Video update!

The video will be done shortly, I already finished it but then when I uploaded it the quality was poor because the bit rate was to low. I have had to do it all again and I am still not 100% happy with the quality, so bare with me on this one because I would rather wait until I am happy with it.

Thanks.

City sites video update!

Hi guys, Just letting you know the video is coming along nicely and should be done shortly, perhaps by tomorrow.

Even though it is a simple video, it has proved a bit of a fine art to find the right colour font to put against some of the homepages.

I have took it upon myself to add some City sites that hadn't got back to me, I figured everyone would want in. If you definitely do not want to be in it let me know asap.

Anyone who I have not thought of still has the chance to get in the video, just drop me an email at wevegotrobinho@live.co.uk asap.

Thanks to everyone who got back to me I hope you like the video, it isn't fancy but should do the job I set out to do.

Attention all Man City bloggers and independent websites!

Hi guys just wanted to do a quick post to inform you about something I am going to be doing. I am going to create a simple video which flicks through homepages of all City blogs and sites. The idea behind it is to get us out there even more, we work hard using our spare time to do this so why not?

Like I said the video will not be anything particularly special but will make more people aware of the variation out there.

So if you would like your site included in the video just drop me and email and let me know, wevegotrobinho@live.co.uk

Thanks.
