This photo of our supposed new shirt is doing the rounds on the Internet at the moment. I am not sure if it is real or not, but it is in the same design as the England shirt that was leaked this week and as we know Umbro do knock out kits that all look the same. I know that the current kit was leaked on the Internet last year and it ended up being the real kit, so maybe this is real as well.
Make your own mind up.........

I hope not.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time they gave us back our old Retro Badge, then again im wasting my breathe there.
ReplyDeleteThey won't go back to the old badge as they have no copyright on it.
ReplyDeletehorrible kit, cov city again, umbro make ugly stuff, ask any school kid, who would want to wear this out and about.
ReplyDeletei actually read that some bloke loved the collar!!??
ReplyDeleteBloody Hell! What on earth are doing going with Umbro? I wouldn't kit a kid's team out in their rubbish. We need Nike or Adidas or Kappa
ReplyDeleteNike own Umbro if I'm not mistaken
ReplyDeleteNike own Umbro and have done for a year or two now. In the same way that Adidas own Reebok and they market it differently, Nike do the same for Umbro.
ReplyDeleteIn effect we will have a Nike kit, but badged as Umbro. Makes sense, given our connections
If we are back with Umbro. Then maybe we can get a replica late seventies kit with the logo strips down the arms. With the old badge too (I miss that badge).
ReplyDeleteHad one as a kid. But want another.
That potential new kit is not too good though.
thought thomas cook were our main sponsor for the next couple of years? champions league final in an umbro kit, hope not...ha "UP THE BLUES!!"
ReplyDeleteto the anonymous guy who said "ask any school kid, who would want to wear this out and about"
ReplyDeletewell all i can say is, if they love city as much as i do (i am a school kid) then yes they would, i dont care what it looks like as long as its not pink with fluffy feathers or summit ridiculous because i love manchester city and as long as the players playing in it are delivering i dont care as i will wear it with proud
I agree with the anonymous kid, I to will wear whatever shirt they make, it isn't a fashion contest. P.S. can anyone who leaves a comment please leave a name, thank you.
ReplyDeletei dont like all this white on the sleeves bullshit... i want a traditional all sky blue shirt with navy sponsorship writing white shorts and navy sox.....
ReplyDeleteyes sorry the names jack
ReplyDeletei would just like to build on garys comment, hes right, this isnt a fashion contest, its our beloved clubs colours thats all. it doesnt matter what it looks like as long as its the sky blue of our team, as long as the players wearing it actually want to wear it and we beat teams wearing it then who would really care?
how about hi tec or nicks then!?
ReplyDeleteWho gives a shit what the make is, it's sky blue and has a city badge on it! Istanbul here we come!
ReplyDeleteUmbro!!! Are you having a laugh!!! Awful make, awful kit, awful sponsor, awful shade of sky blue. it probably smells bad too. We're the richest club in the world and that's what they serve up!!! They are taking the mickey big time!!
ReplyDeleteI'd feel cheated having to pay nearly £40 for a short like this, Nike may own Umbro but just like Nestle now own Rowntrees the KitKats taste the same, so the kits will always be extremely poor. (Even though I really like KitKat's). The Club should get opinion on the shirt manufacturers off the fans. I want my team to be stood in the tunnel before the game and look impressive in their kits, I want it to be recognised as a Manchester City Kit, Well designed and awsome, something kids and adults are proud to wear and that helps define the club. Not this wishy washy excuse for a kit. Get someone in who's got an EYE for these thing not someone that designs tea towels for a living.
ReplyDeleteNike may own Umbro but they are still represented as different brands and it shows. If this is the new shirt it is fucking tradgic, looks like a bolton 3rd kit or something equally turd. Lets hope its just some form of training wear
ReplyDeleteThe 'alleged' england kit it looks like turned out to just be some training kit apparently, this may just be a warm up or training shirt - we'll know soon enough.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Fake!

Thanks for that Tommy, but still could it be a copy? Looking at the shorts on the link Tommy gave, I had a feeling they would have two lines on them to match up with the lines on the shirt when tucked in, before I seen them.
ReplyDeleteIf my comment leavers could leave names I would appreciate it and also a couple of swear words flying around, It doesn't offend me as such, just thinking of any kids that read my blog, so if we can leave swear words out I would also appreciate it. Thanks.
Weeeelll...I...er...it's better than this season's...

Why cant we be fashionable and get Adidas? We can do limited edition Y-3 kits- That will make us the number 1 club in asia for sure.
ReplyDeletecraig here. I dont like this kit at all so am praying its a fake. I know that nike own umbro but they are marketed as a toatally seperate firm actually in competion with each other, what would make this worse is that umbro is clearly they crappier of the two, so would leave city with umbro and united nike. Its about time city think big and go for someone with class who will not dish out shirts exactly the same as other teams they make kits for. Umbro did this to us when we last had them, reebok also did this. Kappa created a unique kit which ok were not made to last (constantly pulling) but we looked awesome in them. I would like to see us return to kappa or puma would be also be a cool shirt (i like their clothing range) as not many teams in the prem have either of them shirts.
