The young blues go through to the semi final of the FA Youth Cup after a tough game against Norwich City.
Not one of our youth teams better performances, but as they say the sign of a good team is winning when your not at your best. I don't want to take anything away from Norwich's lads though, they really pushed City today and look a good side.
Robbie Mak scored the goal that won the game, after a good pass from Reece Wabara, Mak took the ball past the Norwich defender and produced a nice finish. Norwich had a great chance to equalise when they were awarded a penalty in the 79Th minute, City substitute Omar Elabdellaoui committing a foul on Tom Adeyemi. Nick Davey stepped up to take the penalty for the visitors but squandered a great chance by smashing the ball over the bar.
City now face Arsenal over two legs in the semi final of the competition.
Starting line ups:
City: Clegg, Trippier, Boyata, Wabara, Cunningham, Tutte, Benali, Ibrahim, Chantler, Mak, Nimely.
Substitutes: Redshaw, Johansen, Guidetti, Helan, (Elabdellaoui on for Tutte 74')
Norwich: Rudd, Francomb, Dumic, Stephens, Habergham, Omoregie, Adeyemi, Smith, Dawkin, Davey, Kelly.
Substitutes: Clarke, Steer, Reeves, (Drmola on for Francomb 84'), (Brindley on for Omoregie 76')

ReplyDeleteGlad i missed it...got some reports from people who went. It sounded very poor. With arsenal next, we better buck our ideas up quickly
