Valeri Bojinov has been called up to the Bulgaria squad for their up and coming World Cup qualifiers. He will come up against City team mates Richard Dunne and Shay Given when Bulgaria take on the Republic Of Ireland at Croke Park on the 28Th of March. He then goes on to play Cyprus on the 1st of April at the Vasil Levski National Stadium, Sofia, Bulgaria.
I would prefer it if Bojinov didn't go playing for his country so soon after coming back from injury, but I am sure he will. I just hope they don't expect to much from him, the last thing we need is for him to aggravate his injury.

How can a country call up a player who hasnt played club football for nearly 2 years. They must be struggling for strikers.
ReplyDeleteThis is crazy!
ReplyDeleteI can see him getting a worse injury simply because he'll give 100% even though not fully match fit.
Hey Ho.

If you remember...that is exactly what happened to Petrov...rushed back by the Bulgarian coach way too soon and caused the latest injury!
