Typical of the way I am, I was more interested in watching Vladimir Weiss tonight than I was in watching England. I was eager to see again how he would handle full International level and he did not disappoint me!
Weiss started for Slovakia against Northern Ireland tonight and was absolutely fantastic, he lit the game up with his skill and class. Weiss was by far the best player on the pitch and was the main reason Slovakia won the game.
He has progressed a lot since I first ever seen him as a skinny teenager, he has finally started to bulk up a little and can now compete physically with the seasoned pros.
Weiss has been showing his potential for years and I think that it is time he got his chance in our first team. SWP is not on top of his game and I think it is time for Hughes to show him he isn't irreplaceable, and with Weiss looking more and more ready for action I don't think that it will be a bad decision at all.
I think that City need to go a little bit Spanish with Weiss and give him a long contract at least a 6 year deal, with a huge buy out clause. I 100% genuinely believe that Weiss can be the best player in the world at some point in his career and how great would it be for that to happen to him well playing for the Club where he has come through the ranks.
As City fans I think we should make it known that Weiss needs a new contract sooner rather than later!
*No video of performance against Northern Ireland available at the moment will add if one does pop up.

I too spent more time switching over to watch Vlad than watching the England game and he was the dogs chogs !!!- we need to give him an opoortunity sooner rather than later - nothing better than seeing an academy player break through
ReplyDeleteBe nice if he got a run out on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteLove to see the little fella get a chance - really think he can put pressure on SWP, and make a huge name for himself.
ReplyDeleteScorchio!!
ReplyDeleteJust maybe....just maybe...Vladi will help me to forget the genius of Kinkladze.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to the boy - he will be a WORLD STAR for City.
I don't think that it has to be a maybe, he looks absolute class. He is a little like Kinky in that he is to selfish sometimes but I am sure he will grow out of that with experience.
ReplyDeletegreat to see a new guy going to be a promise in the football world. And M City will be a good team to him to show his knowledge and where we have a real league to test this new promise.
ReplyDeleteI like what I see too. If I understood the commentator correctly, he is the son of the Slovakian Manager. Love to see him destroy the United defence. Seems a good crosser of the ball too.
ReplyDeletethis kid is the real deal and could easily hold down a place in the team, bet ronaldo is sweating for his player of the year trophy when he sees this lad! i kid you not!
ReplyDeleteHe is going to be a great winger, we need to keep hold of this lad, he has the potential to be far better than SWP
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking stuff. We need to secure him.
ReplyDeleteI was at Windsor Park on Wed nite, and that young guy is amazing!! He tortured £15m rated Johnny Evans, and looked a class act! His passing was superb, and his quick feet breathtaking. Im gald he was one of the 31 we offloaded over the summer! As they say in Belfast...'He's a wee cracker'!!!!!!
