Rumour Time!

Well let me start off by saying this is going to maybe sound unbelievable and it may not be true, but I can only go on what I have been told so here goes.

Today I have been told from a someone high up in the council in Manchester, that our owners have big plans for our ground including the surrounding area and have been in discussions with the council about it.

Our owners have put it forward to the council that they will build up the area and create jobs if they sell them the land, for instance the casino idea that was scrapped, our owners have supposedly offered to go ahead and build one if that's what it will take for them to be allowed to buy the land. Saying that whether it be a casino or hotels and so on, the main objective for the council and our owners is to build a complex to create jobs and regenerate the area, and at the same time make City the greatest club in the world.

Now non of the above shocked me really, but I was a little taken back when my source went on to tell me that our owners are creating plans to possibly knock down the stadium and build a new one, their reasons behind this are suppose to be that if we reach our goal of being a champions league team and ultimately one of the best teams in the world, they feel that having a 60,000+ all seated stadium goes with the territory.

I was also told that between 300 - 500 million is the money being talked about for our owner to purchase the land.

I know some of this may seem a little far fetched and I don't like silly lies as much as the next guy, but I had to write about this seems as it came from a respectable person and if it did happen I would be gutted that I was not the first to let it out, anyway lets hope it is true sounds like it would be great for Manchester and our football club.

Scolari sacked by Chelsea, why am I bothered though?

Well Chelsea have sacked Scolari and your wondering why I am writing about it, well all the unsettling rumours about Robinho still being a Chelsea target in the summer will now hopefully be gone with Scolari being the man who really wanted him at Chelsea.

I am not going to lie I thought Scolari would come back in the summer and try to buy him. I really did not want to go through the worry of possibly losing our superstar all the way through the summer.

So now I hope this means Robinho will stay at City, plus I like the name of my blog.

Date for FA Youth Cup quarter final set

The Man City Youth team and current FA Youth Cup Champions will play Norwich in the quarter final of this years competition at Eastlands on Saturday 7th of march, the game will be a 2pm kick off.

Everyone get down to Eastlands, support the boys and help drive them to retaining the Trophy.

Shaun Wright-Phillips banned!

Shaun Wright-Phillips has today been banned for three league game's by the FA after having a little kick out at Delap, after he basically assaulted SWP.

This is a total disgrace and what makes it worse is that Bosingwa got no action taken against him for lifting his foot from the ground and putting it in Benayoun's back.

Someone needs to get a grip of these people at the FA who sit round a table in their suits and make decisions about football a subject they have no clue about what so ever, they are continuously making mistakes and in turn it means football suffers which can not be allowed to happen any longer.

City will not have SWP available for Portsmouth, Liverpool and West Ham which are all away games.

Three City players named in England team

Wayne Bridge, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Joe Hart have all been called up to the England team for the up and coming friendly against Spain.

Bridge must have got in on past performances because he certainly hasn't got in because of the way he has been playing for City, SWP isn't a surprise whilst I am sure if Joe Hart gets a game against Spain he will relish it as he might not get another call up for a little while, with Shay Given now ahead of him at City.

Shaun Wright-Phillips gets charged by FA

Shaun Wright-Phillips has been charged by the FA for kicking out at Rory Delap, the Stoke player purposely kicked SWP after he had already tackled him from behind.

No action was taken by the ref at the time and he claims he did not see it which is strange in its self considering he was looking right at SWP when he kicked out, anyway he has since informed the FA he would have given a red card had he seen it.

After SWP kicked out it was clearly obvious he didn't make much contact and Delap was hurt in no way, you could also see after he kicked out he stopped himself from kicking him properly.

So what do the FA actually take into account when looking at video evidence, I mean surley a natural reaction after someone basically assaults you is to defend yourself and in this case it was in the form of SWP having a little kick out.

Now loads of people will say well you just can not kick out and its a fair point but I just think what SWP did was almost a knee jerk reaction and should not be punished to the extent of a red card maybe it was worthy of a yellow but certainly nothing more.

As for the FA I can not believe they have the cheek to charge SWP after not taking any sort of action against Bosingwa, he just blatantly lifted his boot up and put it in Benayoun's back while he was shielding the ball.

So surely when SWP and City go to plead their case with the FA they will mention the fact Bosingwa was not charged and the FA will almost certainly not press ahead with a ban for SWP will they???

SWP has until 6pm on Thursday to admit or deny the charge, while a Regulatory Commission will hear the case on Friday.

Will letting Jo go be worth it?

When I found out Everton were interested in Jo I thought this was a really good opportunity for him to go and learn about the Premier League, which can only benefit City.

But the more I have been thinking about it since the deal actually went through I am not happy that we have let him go out on loan.

Firstly at £19 million if he is going to be good enough surely his class will show through at City and he will force his way into our team, and then even if he can't absolutely force his way into the team I think he should have been kept around to have in the squad.

With us being inconsistent in the League and having a European Trophy to go after I just feel the more body's around the squad the better.
